Medieval Market at Turku
Keskiaikaiset Markkinat Turku
Turku (Finland Proper Region)
Turku is a city on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River. It is believed to have been settled around the end of the 13th century, which makes Turku the oldest city in Finland.
The Medieval Market is Finland’s largest medieval and historical event held at the Old Great Square of Turku. The visitors can feel the medieval atmosphere at five different venues: the Medieval Market at the Old Great Square, Turku Castle, Turku Cathedral, the Horse Tournament of Rohan Stables and the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova museum.
The festival offers a wide range of entertainment all around the market area: vendors with high quality handicrafts and medieval delicacies, skillful handicraftsmen, fierce knights, interesting lectures and guided tours in addition to musicians, actors, dancers and circus performers, who provide a memorable experience for the whole family.
