The superb and mighty Istituto “Ars Dimicandi” (Italy), the European top reenactment group devoted to the Ancient Roman Gladiators, teaches Gladiatorial combat in the style of ancient Rome, and excels in researching and reconstructing the weaponry and combat techniques of the Roman gladiators.
The re-enactors offer magnificent, specialised and scientifically accurate demonstrations, boasting a high degree of professionalism and providing an up-close look at the games organised for the greater glory of the Roman emperors. Directed by the incredible Dario Battaglia, this re-enactment group is renown for having been doing since the beginning a quite serious and well documented work and leading a meticulous research on gladiatorial combats. The group takes regularly part in the best historical festivals in Italy and throughout Europe, and has even worked as film consultants for several tv and documentaries productions (Serie Rome by HBO).
