The Midlands is the traditional name for the area comprising central England that broadly corresponds to the early medieval Kingdom of Mercia. It was an important location for the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Midlands History Festival is the great multi-age reenactment, taking place each year in a different location in the territory of the historic Midlands, that comprises actual regions of East Midlands and West Midlands. The event illustrates life in different periods, from Roman to WWII, through living history camps, battles, combat and cannons displays, historic market, falconry, historical costume parade, music and dance shows, archery, cooking displays and many activities designed for the visitors of all ages.
