Betanzos Medieval Fair
Feira Franca Medieval de Betanzos dos Cabaleiro
Dates 2018 to be announced
Betanzos (Galicia aut. community)
Betanzos, the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Galicia, was founded in 1219, and in 1416 King Henry IV granted to Betanzos the title of a town, a fact which is commemorated each year, on the second weekend of July, with the celebration of the Medieval Fair.
For three days, the old Betanzos becomes a typically medieval town representing daily life and activities of its inhabitants of the past. The citizens and guests of the city can experience a market with different crafts stalls, various demonstrations and activities, among them theatrical performances, jugglers' shows, period music, archery and falconry displays, parades and special activities for children.
